Khaira seeks judicial inquiry into the killing of 24 years Navreet Singh of UP by the Delhi police on 26th January.

BHOLATH, January 29 (Ajay Gogna)—in the same breath severely condemns slapping of utterly false cases against Kissan leaders to torpedo the farmers agitation.Addressing the media here today, Sukhpal Singh Khaira MLA & Ex LoP flanked by MLA Jagdev Singh Kamalu and Rashpal Singh Jauramajra demanded a judicial inquiry into the killing of Navreet Singh of V. Dibdiba(UP) by the Delhi police on 26th January at ITO crossing.

Khaira said eye witness account and the post mortem report of Navreet Singh clearly indicates an “entry point and exit of the injury with brain matter pouring out”. He said his first cousin Nakashdeep who was present on the scene has alleged that the police fired upon his tractor and the bullet hit his chin and exited near his ear, due to which he lost control and his tractor overturned. Khaira said the police and Godi media have very mischievously called it death by accident, whereas it is a clear cut case of murder by the police. Khaira said even if it was an accident why didn’t the police offer him first aid? Why wasn’t he taken to hospital as police was present in large numbers? Why wasn’t his post mortem conducted in Delhi? Khaira said there was another incident of police firing 3-4 shots within the premises of Red Fort injuring a youth in the upper leg, about which a video is already viral on social media. Khaira said this confirms that the Delhi police had orders to shoot the agitating farmers and now only an impartial and fair judicial inquiry can bring out the truth.Khaira urged Kissan leaders to own up the death of Navreet Singh and seek justice from the government. Khaira said if those 150 farmers who died during the morcha were martyrs, why are farm leaders quiet about the killing of Navreet?Khaira said the Bhog of Navreet Singh on 4th February should be held at Ghazipur border, where he laid down his life.In the same breath, Khaira severely condemned the slapping of utterly false cases against 37 farm leaders and 32 youth. He said the Modi government was misusing the Delhi police to intimidate, browbeat and gag the voice of lacs of farmers by filing FIR no. 46 u/s 147/148/149/186/188/353/332/269/270/307/109/120B/34 IPC & Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act & Section 3 of Epidemic Disease Act & Section 51 of Disaster Management Act against these leaders and youth. Khaira said the youth had done no disrespect to the tricolor at the Red Fort and had only unfurled flags of Nishan Sahib and farmers insignia on vacant poll. He said more than 3 lac tractors had the tricolor atop them on the day of parade, if they had the intuition to dishonor the tricolor, why would they hold them in their hands during the parade and put them on their tractors?

Khaira said the FIR clearly smacks of political terrorism and vendetta by the BJP government against agitating farmers. He said whatever transpired on 26th January was the pre planned conspiracy by the government to defame farmers by using their paid national electronic media (Godi media). Khaira demanded immediate withdrawal of the politically motivated FIR and release of youth detained since 26th January.
