
Selection trials of players for Round Glass Hockey Academy begin
The main objective is to raise women's hockey in Punjab - Olympian Rajinder Singh (Senior)

Jalandhar April 7 (Kulbir Saini) Round Glass Foundation has started hockey centers at different places in Punjab to promote women's hockey in Punjab. 180 players from across Punjab participated in the two-day selection trials for Round Glass Punjab Hockey Academy for Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 category players at the hockey ground of Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar. Giving information in this regard, Round Glass Punjab Hockey Academy Director Training Olympian Rajinder Singh (Senior) and CEO Ashfaq Ullah Khan said that these selection trials are being conducted by the selection committee made up of coaches from different centers of Round Glass Punjab Hockey Academy. They said that their main aim is to raise women's hockey in Punjab. They said that their effort is that in one or two years, more players from Punjab will join the national camps and represent India. He said that the players selected during these selection trials will be admitted to various centers and they will be provided with free sports kits and coaching. Former international player Balbir Singh Randhawa and coaches of various centers were present on this occasion.
